July 22nd, 2011, is a date that will live in infamy in the hearts of the people of Norway.
It was the rainy summer friday when they were reminded that they were not immune to the effects of terrorism and mass murder. The bombings in Oslo, that killed 8 people, and the massacre at Utøya, killing 69.
These are some of the photographs I captured on that fateful day in Oslo, starting exactly one hour after the bomb was detonated. The first photograph I captured was at 16:25:22. The bomb had been detonated one hour earlier, at 15:25:22. Also included in this series are photographs of the following days.

A warm summer day in 2011, July 27 to be exact.
Me and a journalist were given the opportunity to join two police officers on patrol in their police boat, patrolling the waters in the Oslo fjord outside Hurum, Norway.

Tear gas fills the air. My eyes are stinging, as well as my throat and nose. We run to get away from the gas. The police helicopter hovering above telling everyone to scatter. People fire fireworks at the police, who are wearing riot gear, shields and helmets. Rampaging, looting and windowbreaking. This is how the 2009 riots in Oslo ended.
I was there. It was my first ever large scale coverage of anything. I appologize for the poor image quality.

August 24th, 2010, I was on assignment at near Oslo Airport, Gardermoen, Norway, covering a team-building event for event agency Arrcom. Todays event was the product the agency calls “Bootcamp”, where participants from a client business, in this case a lawyer firm, come to experience a day out of the ordinary, including shooting guns, playing paintball, riding tanks, and more. The event started with a “terrorist” heist at the Scandic Oslo Airport hotel where the participants were having a course (or something). After this, the participants were led down to the nearby Army Day event site and split into teams to do the various tasks, before enjoying a nice dinner and party.
